Ecuador's Rafael Correa sees U.S. hand in Honduras coup
Associated Press
QUITO -- Ecuador's President Rafael Correa says the Honduras coup probably occurred with the U.S. military's knowledge and he questioned President Obama's control of the U.S. government.
Correa tells Manta-based Marejada radio that he trusts Obama and thinks he is a good man. But in his words, ``I believe he is not in control of the United States.''
Correa questions Obama's control of the Pentagon and CIA and says it is unlikely the Honduras coup took place without the knowledge of the U.S. military, which has a base in that country.
Correa says the coup is a message from Latin American and U.S. ``ultraconservatives'' to keep leftist governments in line. Correa is a U.S.-trained economist and a leftist ally of Venezuela's Hugo Chavez.
