I'm a native New Yorker who has finally come around. For me, it's all about sunshine and palm trees, and I've made a commitment to never to never be cold again.

I am the Editorial Board's letters editor and opinion-page paginator. Got a comment or complaint … How can you not? You live in South Florida … don't hold back. Send them to heralded@miamiherald.com. Keep it short, sweet and to the point, and you'll have a better chance of seeing your letter in print.

I also write a column for The Miami Herald's food section, called The Cultural Kitchen. My husband, George, a mosaic artist, and I essentially craft our vacations around art and food, which has been a great way to see a lot of world.
