Co. Army General Raúl Castro Ruz
President of the Councils of State and Ministers
Comrade Army General
Dear Raúl:
As a result of the discussion held by the Political Bureau of our Party, in which I participated as a guest, I inform you of my decision to resign from my status as member of the Council of State, Deputy to the National Assembly of Popular Power, and member of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of Cuba.
I fully acknowledge that I committed errors that were thoroughly analyzed at said meeting. I assume my total responsibility for them.
With loyalty and modesty, I shall continue to defend the Revolution, to whose principles and ideals I am, and will forever be, fully committed.
I reiterate my fidelity to Fidel, to you and to our Party.
Greetings,
/s/ Felipe Pérez Roque

Comrade Raúl:
I address you to resign from my posts as member of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of Cuba and its Political Bureau and from my status as Deputy, Member of the Council of State and Vice President of the Council of State.
I acknowledge the errors committed and assume the responsibility. I consider that the analysis made at the last meeting of the Political Bureau was just and profound.

Fraternally,
