GETTING TO ANDROS ISLAND
Getting there: Gulfstream International (800-231-0856; www.continental.com) -- flies nonstop to Andros Town Airport from Fort Lauderdale once a week; from $314. Otherwise, make the one-hour flight to Nassau (Continental, Spirit and Bahamasair fly nonstop from Fort Lauderdale, from $205 roundtrip; Bahamasair and American fly nonstop from Miami, from $232). From Nassau, Western Air (242-377-2222; www.westernairbahamas.com) makes the 15-minute flight to Andros Island twice daily, $140 roundtrip. Bahamas Ferry (242-323-2166; www.bahamasferries.com) travels to Fresh Creek on Andros Island from Nassau on Fridays and Sundays at $90 per person roundtrip, about 2 ½ hours.
