  The Miami Springs/Virginia Gardens Optimist Club is getting ready to kick off their second annual fundraiser event, the “Bar-B-Que Blast Throw-Down.” The event is scheduled for this Saturday, Jan. 21 from 10:30 a.m. to 9 p.m. on the Circle in downtown Miami Springs.

      If you love the sizzling, spicy, smoky aroma of cooking on the grill, then you will want to join in on the fun as many barbecue teams will face off to compete for bragging rights and cash prizes. 

      Guests will have a hard time deciding which cuisine to choose from as more than 20 contestants are expected to display their food at the event. Guests will enjoy great food, wonderful music and each other’s company.
