Awards Ceremony

The Silver Knight Awards ceremony is held at a theater or auditorium in late May.

The time, date and location will be announced in the Fall. The identities of the 30 Silver Knights and 90 Honorable Mentions are revealed at the ceremony. Each county receives 15 Silver Knight awards and 45 Honorable Mentions.

Each nominee is introduced and receives a certificate. Silver Knights receive $2,000, a Silver Knight statue and a medallion presented by American Airlines. The Honorable Mentions are presented $500 and an engraved plaque. The cash awards are made possible in part by the generous support of the John S. and James L. Knight Foundation.

Both Miami-Dade & Broward County ceremonies will be combined into one ceremony and will be held in Miami-Dade County, May 17, 2012.
