Q:What do you remember about the night you won your Silver Knight award?
A: It was a very emotional night -- everything came full circle. I remember I didn't officially audition for the school, because I got in by lottery. I came into a situation not thinking that being in one of the top high schools in Florida was possible. Sitting there that night brought this all back to me.
Q: How do people react when they find out you're a Silver Knight winner?
A: The first few weeks while I was in Miami, it was pretty great. The farther north you go, the less people know about it. It's a Miami thing. But four months ago, one of the violinists for the Denver Symphony Orchestra saw my bio in the orchestra's program, which said that I'm a Silver Knight winner, and he was impressed.
Q:Tell us about your life now.
A: I've settled back in Pennsylvania, and I'm an actor with the local theater. It's mostly ministry. Through the Bible characters that I play and songs that I do, I feel my purpose and my calling, my singing.
Q:What advice do you have for students who want to be Silver Knights?
A: Give. Give back. All my service was done in Liberty City. My school gave me music, and I gave it back to Liberty City. I was so honored and so privileged to get into New World, that all I did was give back. One thing led to the other, and the more I gave, the more I received in blessings and a great career. My entire career now is about giving back.
