January 29, 2010: APPLICATION DEADLINE

Entry Forms must be submitted to The Miami Herald no later than 3:00 pm on Friday, January 29, 2010. Electronic application must be submitted on-line and locked by Monday, January 25, 2010 - 11:59PM.

Please note staff will be accepting applications at The Miami Herald’s Miami-Dade and Pembroke Pines offices beginning on Thursday January 28, 2010. During the dates of January 28 – 29, each application will be reviewed to confirm that it is complete. Each application must be LOCKED by the coordinator prior to submission and stamped FINAL. Incomplete applications will not be accepted.

Our schedule for accepting applications is as follows: - Thursday, January 28, 2010 8:30 AM – 5:00 PM - Friday, January 29, 2010 8:30 AM – 3:00 PM

March 3 2010: JUDGING/BROWARD Judging and Interviews of Silver Knight nominees. Student interviews will be scheduled between 8:00am and 6:00pm. Signature Grand, 6900 State Road 84, Davie, FL 33317. MAP.

March 23 2010: JUDGING/MIAMI-DADE Judging and Interviews of Silver Knight nominees. Student interviews will be scheduled between 8:00am and 6:00pm. Jungle Island, 1111 Parrot Jungle Trail, Miami, FL 33132. MAP.

May 13 2010: MIAMI-DADE & BROWARD COUNTY JOINT CEREMONY

The Miami Herald is proud to announce the 2010 Silver Knight Awards. Ceremony for Broward and Miami-Dade Counties will be held at the James L. Knight International Center, 400 SE Second Ave, Miami on Thursday, May 13th, 2010 at 7PM. We are excited to host both counties together for this grand event. As always, it promises to be a fitting and spectacular way to recognize outstanding students.

Please note that we will not be issuing tickets this year. There is plenty of space in our new, larger venue. However, general admission seating is on a first come, first served basis. We will be opening the doors early and encourage early arrival to secure the best seats possible. The ceremony starts promptly at 7 pm but please encourage your nominees to arrive early. Doors open at 5:30 pm. All nominees must arrive by 6:00 pm.

Nominees will be seated by our staff according to their category and county. The rest of the audience (including family members, friends, coordinators and other school staff) will be seated in general admission seats. We look forward to seeing you all at the ceremony and thank you for your continued support of the Silver Knight Awards.
