Carlos Piar Sr. says, "We don't drink like old-fashioned bikers... We go out, look for restaurants with an nice brunch and come back."
Carlos Piar, 63
Fort Lauderdale
Managing director of VEP Housing Developers
Don't get me started: My work is very, very stressful. I work with more than 200 people. In construction we have to deal with everything, the contractors plus the city.
Ticket to ride: During the week I get on my motorcycle and ride. That's how I blow off steam. I have two Harley-Davidsons and a group of biker friends. We go all around the state, from Key West to Daytona Beach. Once a week we meet on U.S. 1 in Hollywood and talk about silly things.
Born to be mild: When you're riding you have to be responsible. You must pay attention to avoid accidents. It's very demanding, mentally and physically. We look out for each other. We don't drink like old-fashioned bikers. We have professionals in our group -- doctors and architects. We release by riding for four to five hours. We go out, look for restaurants with a nice brunch and come back.
Whose body is this? My health is excellent. I feel like my body is in its 40s. That's probably from all the walking I do at work, going up and down the buildings.
Weights, cardio: Every day I go the gym at 6 a.m. and work out for an hour, weights and everything to keep my body in the best shape possible.
Hold the sugar: I'm very careful with my food. I cut out the sugar totally, even in coffee, and I don't eat red meat.
Guilty pleasure: Bread, unfortunately. The typical fresh-bread baguette. I can eat two of those.
