Sean Taylor was honored Friday night at the Citrus Bowl, selected as one of the 33 players to make the Florida High School Athletic Association's All-Century Team.

And for the first time since Taylor was shot and killed at his home in Miami two weeks ago, his longtime girlfriend Jackie Garcia spoke publicly.

''I guess I'm doing the best I could be doing,'' Garcia told The Miami Herald. ``I'm happy to be here for Sean. It's just incredible that he was honored with all these great people. He'd be so honored if he was here. He was just a great person and had a huge heart.''

Garcia was accompanied by her 18-month-old daughter, Jackie, and Taylor's father, Pedro Taylor, and was presented Taylor's plaque honoring his achievement during halftime of the Class 5A state championship game.

Garcia said the family has ''maintained strong'' through the tough times. Her family, including her sister Carolina, were with her for support Friday night. She left the stadium with them shortly after halftime, with daughter Jackie in a stroller.

''Everyone is doing good -- as good as they can be,'' Garcia said. ``I'm with my parents. But the family is always getting together. Everyone is always there for Jackie.''

When asked if she was upset by the initial stories on Taylor, which brought to light his arrests, Garcia said: ``I knew they weren't true. So, it didn't bother me.''

Taylor's father said he and the family were happy with the tributes made to Taylor's life. He said he felt the initial media coverage which painted Taylor ''in a negative light improved with time'' and said the family was ``very thankful.''

''I hope people realize that he understood good, he loved God, that he was humble,'' Taylor said. ``That he gave 125 percent and left everything on the field. I think everyone understood that in the end.''

The hearing for the four suspects arrested in his shooting has been reset for Dec. 21.

Taylor was one of seven players and four coaches from Miami-Dade and Broward honored.
