Ever since we realized damaging elements in the ether can age us like rusted-out cars, we've sought antioxidant-rich elixirs to keep us humming like Ferraris. With three new contenders in that category -- each 100 percent juice with 100 to 110 calories per 8-ounce serving and no added sweeteners -- there's a blend to suit your style.

• Easygoing: V8's V-Fusion Acai Mixed Berry ($3.69, 46 ounces) is made with antioxidant-rich acai, the Amazonian wonder berry, plus carrots and sweet potatoes. Available at supermarkets, it has a sweet, kid-friendly flavor reminiscent of cherry Kool-Aid and by far the most palatable price tag of this trio. Eight ounces delivers a serving each of fruits and vegetables.

• Chic: Despite its name, Frutzzo Yumberry Cranberry ($5.39, 64 ounces) is a more sophis- ticated juice. Tart-sweet, garnet-hued yumberry, which also goes by the more dignified name of Chinese bayberry, is this year's antioxidant darling. Frutzzo combines it with cranberries and black currants in a refreshing blend that sparkles on the tongue. While other Frutzzo yumberry blends are widely available ($3, 12 ounces), yumberry cranberry is a Costco exclusive.

• Hard-core: Claiming to be the most powerful antioxidant beverage on the planet, Purple ($2.99, 10 ounces) combines acai, pomegranate, cranberry and four other fruits in a juice that's almost too intense to drink straight, with a deep, puckery taste that hints of dried plums (formerly known as prunes). Get Purple at GNC stores and some natural food stores.
