DINING Q&A
Q. I have friends who will be coming to visit and they've asked me for a suggestion for a really good Indian restaurant. One of them is a vegetarian. Any suggestions, especially in West Broward?
A. You'll find two authentic choices for vegetarian south Indian dishes within a couple miles of each other on University Drive. Your friends will love the dosais and the thali sets (a dinner of several small dishes) at Woodlands in Lauderhill (4816 N. University Dr., 954-749-3221) and at nearby Udipi Cafe (2100 N. University Dr, Sunrise; 954-748-5660). If you don't mind the drive, Madras Cafe (1434 S. Powerline Rd., Pompano Beach; 954-977-5434) draws diners from all over South Florida for its wide-ranging menu covering many regional specialties. All three have lunchtime buffets.
