Dining Q&A | Fort Lauderdale birthday bashes
Posted on Thu, May. 08, 2008
Q: My boyfriend's birthday is coming up and I'm looking for a fun restaurant in Fort Lauderdale that isn't too expensive. He eats anything!
A: If your beau is the laid-back type, Coconut's (429 Seabreeze Blvd., Fort Lauderdale; 954-525-2421), near State Road A1A, is a fun restaurant and bar with an Intracoastal view. Another bonus: You can take a romantic stroll on the beach after your meal. Entrees are $15 and up. For something more upscale, try Canyon (1818 E. Sunrise Blvd., Fort Lauderdale; 954-765-1950), which has a fun vibe and is famous for its prickly pear margaritas. But go early because it gets packed on Friday-Saturday nights. Himmarshee Bar & Grille (210 SW Second St., Fort Lauderdale; 954-524-1818) is a hip people-watching spot with very good food and close proximity to local bars and Riverwalk.
