Charges still dog Opa-locka water department

 

The City of Opa-locka has allowed a $30,000 water bill connected to Vice-mayor Myra “Lady” Taylor’s Vankara School remain unpaid for years.

A lawsuit challenging favoritism at Opa-locka's utilities department has been settled for $275,000. But utility records suggest the city has not stopped the practice of granting preferential treatment to city insiders.
